Male catheterization model

The male catheterization model is a simulation teaching aid used in clinical nursing teaching and skills training, mainly to help trainees master the process and norms of male catheterization operations. This model is designed based on the anatomical structure of the male urinary system, featuring realistic external genitalia and urethral channels. It can simulate the resistance and feel during the real catheterization process, facilitating learners to repeatedly practice in a risk-free environment.

During the training process, trainees should strictly follow aseptic techniques: First, clean and disinfect the perineum, then drip lubricant into the urethral opening, slowly insert the catheter, and experience the resistance changes at different depths. When the catheter enters the bladder and urine flows out, it indicates that the operation is successful. Then fix the urinary catheter and connect the drainage bag to ensure smooth urine discharge.

This model can not only be used to demonstrate the standard steps of catheterization, but also help trainees master the precautions during the operation, such as force control, aseptic concepts and respect for patients' privacy. Through repeated use, trainees can master the skills of male catheterization proficiently, reduce risks in clinical operations, and improve the quality of care and patient safety.
